Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is a mercurial singer and composer who weds Soul gospel Jazz and R&B in a signature mix. She has appeared on stages all over the world, from Broadway up to the Democratic National Convention to the European club and festival scenes. Sunshine has the name Denise White. While she resides in Atlanta however, she comes from Chester Pennsylvania where she began music by performing as well as playing the piano at the church. She was a student at Spellman College in Atlanta where she began her education within the city's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single to feature her vocals was Stalk You which was a house 12-inch released exclusively in Japan The song has been remixed by a variety of artists and is an integral part in her live show. Her voice was also added to the soundtrack of The Fighting Temptations. The band was hired as the sole keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage play Meet the Browns in 2005. In 2007, Grammy and Tony Award-winning vocalist Jennifer Holliday sought her out to be the director of choral for the stage production of Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine gained national recognition during her four daily performances during 2008's Democratic National Convention. She got invited to perform in the Obama administration's inaugural in 2009.
