Aaliyah Daniel Haughton made her way to stardom in 1994 with her debut album Age Ain't Anything But A Numer. Her album, which was made available at just fifteen years old was certified Gold. R. Kelly was a major influence on this collaboration which brought her into the spotlight. In 1996 Jermaine and Timbaland came out with Aaliyah's sophomore album One In A Million. It featured If Your Girls Only Knew, the single that was most popular. Aaliyah gained international fame for her R&B singing through the release of this album. She starred with the martial arts legend Jet Li in 2000's romantic-action movie Romeo Must Die. Joel Silver, a film producer, who was attending an award ceremony at the time she landed the role, noticed her. Queen of the Damned was her debut role in 2002. It's based on an Anne Rice novel. The actress utilizes Aarti Man as well as Aarti Mahumdar to refer to her stage name. While she started out with small TV and movie roles, her acting started growing in popularity around the turn of the century. She has also appeared in Leverage, Suits, Grey's Anatomy as well as Grey's Anatomy. She's also appeared in major commercials for brands like Volvo which is an international automobile producer.
